Each Tuesday I am committing to praying for our students, our church, & our community! I meet with God in the sacred space in our church known as the youth room 😉 Will you pray with me? There truly in power in prayer and we need prayer warriors for our students, church, & community. Now I write this mainly for those in the Adrian, MI community but do appreciate the prayers of those no matter where you are in the world!
This week I want to focus on praying for those who do not know Jesus, the “Lost”.
Also pray that God would use you to show Jesus through you!
Some thoughts to think about when we pray:
There are numerous people that do not know Jesus as Savior, Redeemer that are in your sphere of influence. You can help show Jesus to a world that is dying, in darkness. We don’t have to be afraid. We have the Holy Spirit guiding us every step of the way if we keep our eyes fixated on Jesus.
Ed Stetzer in a post on Christianity Today online talked about how we need to grieve the lostness that is around us! We need to, “Hurt for those who have not been transferred from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of the Son God loves. (Col 1:13)”
When we begin to look at it from that perspective it changes our attitude. We no longer begin with ourselves but begin with the other, the lost. Churches, youth ministries can begin to change. We sometimes get so inward focused that we forget about the world all around us. We need to see the hurt, feel the pain and grieve the lostness that is all around us. Then maybe we can do something to help rather than just sit back and wait for someone else to do it.
Will you join me this week in praying & grieving for those that are “lost” of Lenawee County?
“…Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.”
Don’t worry if you don’t feel adequate. Jesus will give you the courage if you allow God to be your vision. All God is looking for is a willing vessel. Will you allow Jesus to be your vision for this lost world like Paul?
